I am HBO educated as a Naturopathic Doctor (6 years of education) and in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). I did my internships in hospitals in China. I have expanded my knowledge by following the training Japanese Acupuncture, the internships I did with Japanese teachers in several countries in Europe.  I also followed the basic training in regular medicine (Cipion). In addition, I took the special training Mindfulness in Acupressure and I was trained as a teacher for this in Los Angeles Ca. I also provide and coordinate various Health Workshops.

It is my passion that people become more knowledgeable about the functioning of their own bodies. When you know how your body works, you also know faster when something is not going right. I help people to prevent it from coming to that. But if it already has come to that, then I like to help restore the balance. You should then not only think of physical issues, but also of the balance between Mental and Physical.

If something is not right mentally, this often manifests itself in physical complaints. If something is not right physically, it usually manifests itself in mental complaints.

About me

For example, if you fret, you will often get a headache. And if you have joint problems/pain, you will often worry which will cause you to fret. Then you are out of balance. In organizing my workshops, I use both pillars of medicine, that is, Regular and Integrative Naturopathy.

Both in my workshops and in my practice and publications, I pay great attention to preventing these situations. In doing so, I use multiple healing perspectives such as, among others: acupuncture, moxa, cupping, nutrition, movement, sound, color and various other techniques to restore and maintain a good balance in the body.

If one has a need for other topics, I can also organize workshops on them upon request. My work is my passion.

As a volunteer

I have developed several projects for my neighborhood and surrounding area.

My volunteering

Maria Edith Pineda fleurt de grijze Wildemanbuurt op.

I develop, organize and implement projects aimed at social cohesion, health and combating loneliness in the Amsterdam district Wildeman Osdorp.

Examples are the outdoor fitness equipment, which is now widely used in the Sloterplas and in the City Park, the monthly cultural meetings (since 6 years), “Netherlands Meets Another Country” (see facebook page Buurtvereniging Wildeman). Dance lessons for children and since a few months, the monthly Stijldans and Latin-salsa dance afternoons for adults in the Buren in Amsterdam Osdorp.

A very special project for me is the beautiful garden in the neighborhood where I live. To this end I adopted a piece of land and transformed the former rat’s nest into a lush garden, in cooperation with the residents. The city district of Amsterdam New-West provided a grant for this project. In addition, with the help of the municipality, I provided a set of planters to prevent parking problems on the sidewalks.

As chairwoman of the Amsterdamse Vrouwenstichting, I organized a children’s choir that provided a lot of fun in Osdorp for years. Prior to that, I organized, supervised and conducted a children’s choir in the St. Nicolaaskerk in Amsterdam for twelve years. In addition, I organize children’s programs such as the Neighborhood Day of Oranjefonds and after-school children’s programs in the Hoed.

I am always involved in the welfare of the residents and my neighborhood. I have developed many multifaceted projects for the area, put a lot of energy into them and have continued to do so in these times.

In January 2022, I received the award “The Tree of Merit, “Volunteer of the Year 2021” from the District of Amsterdam New-West, an award for my intensive volunteer work with these and other diverse projects.
